Celebrate The Small Things

Celebrate The Small Things

Isn’t it amazing how hard we can be on ourselves?  It’s so easy to fall into the trap of living according to someone else's script isn’t it?  Do you find yourself saying, “I should have…”
“Should have”, according to whom? Who’s making up all these “shoulds” anyway?

Do you ever wonder why you are letting these “shoulds” influence you? Maybe you aren’t even aware that you are.  Maybe you’re making up all the “shoulds” because of some old belief you”re believing. In my coaching practice I find so much of this way of thinking and believing tied into wanting to feel worthy.  Well, I’m here to say, “you are worthy!”   You are worthy not because of what you think you should do, or what you have done, but simply because you are here.

When I fall into this mindset of not feeling like I’ve done enough, been productive enough, “should have done more” mindset…here’s what I do.
I make a list of all the things that I have done.  Here’s where I celebrate all the small things too.  I changed my sheets, swept my floors, wrote in my journal, called my parents, checked my email, went on a short walk, took a few deep breaths, made dinner, took my supplements, drank water, and so on.  When I read this back I feel better.

I remind myself if I didn’t do one single thing listed above, that’s ok too.  I reflect on times when I gave myself permission to be and remember what birthed from that time of non doing.  Creation comes from stillness too.

I remind myself that I am the creator of my life.  I have permission to live it as I choose and for that I am so grateful.

And lastly, I write down what I am grateful for.  This is such good practice to help shift your mindset.

I hope some of my tips can help you shift too.
